Food in Melaka - All About Satay Celup

Satay Celup

This is different from the normal Grilled satay... but cooked in a thick sauce - another Melaka signature dish.
Stick of seafood, vegetables & varieties of food are dipped into a rich thick source of peanuts and herbs to be cooked.

1. CAPITOL SATAY CELUP at Bukit China

One will never miss it as you can see people started to line up as early as 5:00pm. The shop will open only around 5:30-6:00pm

Tips: Do not eat too much too fast as the operator will hand out bonuses in the midst. Bonuses in forms of big prawns or other seafood not on display at no extra cost, but same price as other sticks.

2. BAN LEE SIANG SATAY CELUP at Jalan Ong Kim Wee

The difference is in the source, this one is not that thick as Capitol but still has its unique flavour.
Sticks of food are kept in fridge to keep out the insects. More seats here and no need to queue up and not so stuffy.
